CONTEXT
- The Client is one of the leaders of the caps & closures industry, faced with shifts in technology and usage. The group must stop production of its traditional and fast-declining product/application. Although business size is modest (sales €25m, 120p) the social risk, which the company cannot afford, is very high
OBJECTIVES
- Establish, lead and complete the entire job-saving plan with the highest level of security, both socially and financially, while ensuring full continuity of services within the Group (no strikes)
TASKS
- Administrative filings and consultation with employee representatives and public authorities
- Negotiations with all stakeholders, especially trade unions (“Livre III” and “Livre IV” procedures)
- Design of a revitalization plan – negotiation with potential buyers of assets
- Outplacement initiatives and structure implementations (“cellule de reclassement”)
OUTCOME
- Plant closure achieved within agreed timeframe and budget, and without any labor disruption
- 90% of employees placed in another job after 12 months (regional record)
- Communication with public opinion & public authorities perfectly mastered
