CONTEXT

  • The Client is one of the leaders of the caps & closures industry, faced with shifts in technology and usage. The group must stop production of its traditional and fast-declining product/application. Although business size is modest (sales €25m, 120p) the social risk, which the company cannot afford, is very high

OBJECTIVES

  • Establish, lead and complete the entire job-saving plan with the highest level of security, both socially and financially, while ensuring full continuity of services within the Group (no strikes)

TASKS

  • Administrative filings and consultation with employee representatives and public authorities
  • Negotiations with all stakeholders, especially trade unions (“Livre III” and “Livre IV” procedures)
  • Design of a revitalization plan – negotiation with potential buyers of assets
  • Outplacement initiatives and structure implementations (“cellule de reclassement”)

OUTCOME

  • Plant closure achieved within agreed timeframe and budget, and without any labor disruption
  • 90% of employees placed in another job after 12 months (regional record)
  • Communication with public opinion & public authorities perfectly mastered
